How can I design a new aluminium platform, stair, or access system?

You have a project needing a solution and need a design and your next few hours or days are to be used up with countless CAD mouse clicks hoping you will have no nail biting CAD crashes, detailing and load transfer challenges?

The Monkeytoe Design team all enjoy doing this and always work to produce modular, lightweight designs that assemble easily with minimal waste and minimise the impact on surrounding structures. To ensure the designs meet the high standards required the design team has regular meetings and design reviews to ensure that each design is completed to continue the design principles we live and breathe.

How do I design my stair or purlin mount platform?

By filling out the form shown below our consultants can quickly provide you a design. Based on using thousands of pre-engineered designs, and years of experience in efficient aluminium design Shyam and our IT configurator team have created a design tool that will create drawings and a 3D model to specific site requirements within minutes. This incorporates engineering analysis and rules to ensure a fully compliant system that can then be easily incorporated into an ongoing design project.

How do I design an XBEAM platform?

The revolutionary XBEAM is a configurable beam system based on aluminium and carbon fibre which combines the durability and lightweight advantages of aluminium while providing long span load bearing capabilities that outperform traditional steel. For individual member selection and guidance, the span table is located here, however due to the way loads are applied and distributed in the composite members and the specialist bolted and pins bracketing systems requires experience and specialist knowledge. This is done inhouse with our design and engineering team and typically a concept design can be done quickly providing you with documented reaction loads back to the structure along with weights and dimensions. After this it will follow through the concept design process.(link to concept design piece)

How do I design a custom aluminium maintenance or plant platform or access system?

We recommend following the concept design process for difficult, large, or unusual projects, this is described here (link to concept design content piece). For most stair systems, platforms, ladders, and walkway systems our friendly team can provide you with a design quickly by contacting them with the details of the project listed below.

Why do Monkeytoe recommend doing the design inhouse?

When designing aluminium structures, particularly when it needs to be manufactured and installed economically Monkeytoe has more than 100 years of combined experience in designing, engineering and manufacturing Aluminium structures. There are many factors that constitute a successful aluminium design these include the correct use of custom extrusions to minimise waste and make use of easy manufacture and assembly (DFMA), correct load distribution and engineering which is an acquired knowledge particularly when dealing with load distributions and adding with composite members and welded connections where they give the most benefit. Monkeytoe offer a simple concept design process (link to concept design post) which makes this a breeze.

What information do I need to provide so you can provide a design?

For a simple estimate you may not need full site details, however if you require a design you will need the following, for a downloadable form you can fil out click here(link to table in PDF/Word)
