This month at Monkeytoe July 2021

Check out what's been happening at Monkeytoe in July in our latest monthly news feature.

A note from Budd

Hi everyone,

Let’s jump into this month’s round-up.

When a high-calibre client needs something a bit special, we’re ready to answer the call. Check out the highlight from our work with the lush resort-style oasis that is Saint Moritz overlooking the beach in St Kilda and how we did our best to match the first-class experience with custom Hushmonkey panels.

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again: innovation is in our blood. What that means is that we can do what others thought impossible: quality products quickly made and fitted – and with a better value than anything else out there right now. Check out the video below and you’ll see what we mean.

Great things take great people, of course, which is why I’m proud of the stand-up team that is Monkeytoe. Check out the second video in this newsletter that we’ve simply titled We Are Monkeytoe. We’ve got a brilliant team working hard to design and manufacture proudly Australian-made products and see them in projects across the country.

There’s a lot to see – so get in amongst it.

Cheers,

Budd Prestidge, General Manager

Monkeytoe for Saint Moritz

Crema Construction came to us for acoustic screening for mechanical plant equipment on top of a three-tower residential building in the enviable suburb of St. Kilda overlooking the beach. While we’d have no trouble with this sort of project, we understood that, from an architectural point of view, we had to pull out some stops.

With two private penthouses, each with their own rooftop terraces – and one with its own glass-bottom pool – the brief from our client made it clear that we needed an attractive panel that also met the stringent acoustic ratings.

After speaking with the engineers and architects for this project, we also learned that we’d need to mount at specific support plinths. Normally, we’d install our panels horizontally, but for this project we gave them a turn and installed the PM51 Hushmonkey extrusions vertically, interlocking the powder-coated panels together to create 3.5 and 3.7m high screenings.

Our installers have done an amazing job meeting the standards for this project – and they look awesome too, if we don’t say so ourselves. We’re stoked with the view, and so is the customer.

Monkeytoe versus the alternatives

You can have it quickly, you can have it done well, or you can have it at a low cost.

Time vs. quality vs. cost. Sound familiar? It’s a classic engineering and design adage that you can have one or two, but never all three.

Well that’s where we’re different. We’ve optimised our processes to do all: we’re confident our solutions are faster, higher quality and have a better lifetime value than anything else on the market.

Check out our short video to find out more about how we’ve developed our solutions to be smarter, faster, and ready to beat the competition any day.

Download our new eBook: Portal vs Purlin: The Mounting Showdown

In our first ebook for the construction, design and architectural industries, we saw the ultimate showdown between steel and aluminium. Now we’re pitting portal mounts and purlin mounts – but who comes out on top might not be as straightforward as you think.
