DESIGNED TO MEET REQUIREMENTS
Monkeytoe’s standard Aluminium barrier system is designed to meet the requirements outlined in AS5100.2 – 2017 and comply specifically with parts 12.5 (a), (b), (c) & (d)
COMPLIANT BARRIER HEIGHTS & WIDTHS
The balustrading stands 1165mm high with a total barrier height reaching 1400mm.

BALUSTRADEÂ
The balustrade panels are manufactured in accordance with the Building Code of Australia (BCA) Balustrade regulations and standards, incorporating vertical uprights to create a non-climbable barrier, enhancing safety by preventing unauthorized access or climbing. This design ensures that the barrier meets the stringent safety standards required for public infrastructure, particularly in bridge construction.
- Be at least 1 meter high as measured from the finished floor
- Have openings between risers or posts no greater than 125mm
- Be able to withstand loads and impacts as determined by AS 1170.1

DESIGN LOADS
The below specifications ensure the barrier system meets structural requirements for safety and durability under varying conditions.
Non-Concurrent live load cases:
- Transverse & Vertical 0.75kN/m on top rail,
- Transverse 1.5kPa on infill,
- Transverse 0.6kN point load on infill.
ULS Wind pressures:
- 0.62kPa wind load on infill
